Well, it's been a few months since my last post. Since the end of the first national tour of "Irving Berlin's White Christmas," Sarah has been working very hard back in school. She just finished up her last year of Elementary School with Straight A's. That's quite an accomplishment given that her out-of-school activities include auditions, several hours of dance lessons each week, voice-lessons and horseback riding lessons.
You would think that now that school is out, Sarah's schedule just got a lot easier; and you couldn't be more wrong!
The day after graduation, Sarah started rehearsals for North Shore Music Theater's production of "Gypsy," directed by Richard Sabellico. She's very, very, very excited to be playing the role of Baby June. (Her exact words!) The show is rehearsing for a week in NYC, before moving to Beverly, Massachusetts where they will have one week of rehearsal, and then 8 shows a week for three weeks.
The role of Baby June is a very challenging one indeed. She's doing tap, pointe, cartwheels, baton twirling, and a split...all in a span of a few minutes. It's her most physically demanding role to date, and she's been working very hard over the past few weeks to get into shape.
Sarah is thrilled to be working along side co-star Hannah Piispanen (Baby Louise), with whom she has become fast friends.
